Who can use this feature
Available on all plans (including Free).
Requires one of these admin permissions: Super Admin, Create Rewards, or Update Rewards.
Who this is for
Admins who want to offer company-specific rewards β merchandise, vendor deals, experiences, or anything else your organization manages directly.
What you'll achieve
An active catalog of custom rewards that employees can browse and redeem with their earned points, with stock limits, location targeting, and notification routing configured to match your workflow.
Before you begin
Changes to custom rewards take effect immediately. If your program is already running, consider making updates during a quieter period.
You have admin permissions (Global Admin, or the Create Reward / Update Reward permissions)
You know what reward you'd like to offer and how many points it should cost
Steps
1. Open the Custom Rewards page
Go to Custom rewards under Admin settings β Rewards & redemptions. Your workspace starts with 5 starter rewards β Company Merch, Meeting-Free Day, Buy a Book, 2-Hour Lunch, and Learning Course. You can use them as-is, edit them to fit your organization, or deactivate any you don't need.
2. Create a new reward
Select Create New in the toolbar. A dialog opens with these fields:
Image β A square image for the reward card (1 MB max). Optional but recommended.
Name β A short, descriptive label (3β100 characters).
Description β Extra detail employees see before redeeming (up to 500 characters).
Status β Toggle to On so employees can see and redeem the reward. Leave it Off to prepare it without making it visible yet.
Points Required β How many points an employee spends to redeem.
Quantity Available β Check Unlimited quantity for no cap, or enter a fixed number. When stock reaches 0 the reward stays in your admin table but employees can no longer redeem it.
Location Available β Check International to make the reward visible to everyone. Otherwise, select a specific country β only employees assigned to that country will see the reward.
Employees who have not set a country on their profile can see all rewards regardless of location setting.
3. Edit an existing reward
Open the row action menu (β¦) on any reward and choose Edit. The same dialog opens with the current values pre-filled. Adjust any field and save.
4. Activate or deactivate in bulk
Select multiple rewards using the checkboxes, then choose Active or Inactive from the bulk action menu. This is useful when launching a seasonal set of rewards or retiring several at once.
5. Configure redemption notifications
Above the rewards table you'll find the Redemption Notification Settings card. This controls who receives an email when an employee redeems a custom reward. Choose one of:
All Admins β Every workspace admin is notified.
Permissioned Admins β Only admins with the Reward Ops permission are notified.
Single Admin β One specific admin you select from a dropdown.
Select your preferred option and press Save Settings.
What to expect after
Once a reward is active, it appears in the employee reward catalog. Employees in the configured location (or all employees, if set to International) can browse and redeem it using their earned points. When someone redeems, the admin(s) you've configured receive an email and a redemption record appears in your Redemptions list. From there you manage the request through to fulfillment β see the related articles for the full redemption workflow.
