What Admins Need to Know About Gift Cards
How gift card rewards work for employees, what admins can configure and monitor, and how PraisePal handles fulfillment end-to-end.

Requires Super Admin or Update Rewards admin permissions.
Gift cards are branded rewards β think Amazon, Uber, and similar β that employees redeem with their earned points. PraisePal manages the entire catalog and handles fulfillment, so your role as an admin is simply deciding whether to make them available.
What this is
PraisePal offers a global catalog of gift cards across a range of brands, countries, and denominations. Employees browse the catalog, pick a brand and denomination, and confirm. Points are deducted immediately at a rate of 100 points = US$1, and PraisePal takes care of delivering the gift card by email.
The catalog is not something you build or maintain. PraisePal sources gift cards and keeps the catalog current β your workspace gets access to whatever is available in the countries you operate in.
Why it exists
Custom rewards let you offer company-specific things like merchandise or experiences, but every redemption requires admin review and delivery. Gift cards fill a different need: a ready-made set of rewards that employees can redeem from day one, with no fulfillment work on your end.
That matters most for teams scaling their recognition program. As redemption volume grows, having a self-service reward option keeps your admin workload predictable while still giving employees meaningful, recognizable brands to choose from.
How it works
Enabling gift cards
There's a single toggle at Admin settings β Rewards & redemptions β Gift Cards. New workspaces start with gift cards enabled.
Turning it off hides the gift card catalog from employees and blocks new redemptions. Redemptions already in progress are still fulfilled unless the employee contacts support to cancel.
What employees experience
From the Rewards β Gift Cards page, employees can:
Browse or search by name
Filter by Country and Category
Toggle Redeemable only to see just what their balance covers
Clicking a card opens a dialog where they select a denomination (e.g. $10, $25, $50), review any brand-specific terms, and confirm. Points are deducted on the spot, and they receive a confirmation email. The gift card itself arrives by email within 5β7 business days.
What you see as an admin
Go to Admin settings β Rewards & redemptions β Redemptions and select the Gift Cards tab. This is a read-only view β you can see every gift card redemption in your workspace, but you don't take action on them.
The table shows the reward name, USD value, points spent, who redeemed, when, and the current status. You can sort by any of these columns and export a date range to CSV (delivered to your email).

There is no Approved step β unlike custom rewards, gift cards go directly from Pending to Fulfilled without admin involvement.
